What's the difference between HD and 4K cameras?

HD cameras (1080p) provide excellent quality for most needs at 2 megapixels, perfect for general monitoring at £89 per camera. 4K cameras (8MP) provide 4x more detail at 8 megapixels, better for facial recognition and license plate reading, ideal for business use or large properties at £129 per camera. For most homes, HD cameras are sufficient. For businesses or areas requiring fine detail, 4K is worth the investment.

Can I view my cameras on my phone?

Yes, absolutely! All our CCTV packages include mobile app setup. You can view all your cameras live in HD from anywhere in the world using your smartphone (iPhone or Android) or tablet. The app also allows you to playback recorded footage, receive motion detection alerts, and take screenshots. We set up the app on your devices and show you how to use it during installation. Multiple family members or employees can have access if needed.

How long does CCTV footage stay recorded?

Recording duration depends on your hard drive size, number of cameras, and quality settings. As a guide: 1TB hard drive records approximately 7-10 days with 4 cameras at HD quality. 2TB hard drive records 14-20 days. 4TB hard drive records 28-40 days. The system automatically overwrites the oldest footage when the drive is full. For longer storage, we recommend larger hard drives or cloud storage options.

Do CCTV cameras work at night?

Yes! All our cameras include infrared night vision that works in complete darkness. Standard night vision provides clear black & white footage up to 20-40 meters, perfect for identifying people and vehicles. We also offer colour night vision cameras that use white LED lights to record in full colour at night - ideal for capturing more detail like vehicle colours or clothing. Night vision is essential as most criminal activity occurs after dark.

Will the cameras work if my internet goes down?

Yes, recording continues! CCTV cameras record to a local NVR/DVR recorder, not to the cloud. This means recording continues 24/7 even if your internet is down. Internet is only needed for remote viewing on your phone. If internet is down, cameras still record locally and you can view footage on the monitor connected to your recorder. Once internet returns, remote viewing resumes automatically.

What warranty do you offer?

All our CCTV installations come with a 12-month warranty covering both equipment and installation workmanship. This includes cameras, recorder, hard drive, and cables. If any equipment fails or installation issues arise within 12 months, we'll fix it at no charge. After the warranty period, we offer affordable maintenance services and quick repair response.
